Christmas 2013

This year we traveled to Los Angeles to spend Christmas with all the Hostetlers.  Uncle Seth, Aunt Neng and cousins Jacob, Landon and Logan live there.  Grandpa Mike and Grandma Linda came from New York and Uncle Aaron came with us from Bellingham.  We had a direct flight which was a little under 3 hours each way, and Carissa did great.  She fussed a little, but never really cried as long as I got up and walked up and down the aisle a few times.  On the way home we had a late flight and she slept most of the way.  It was a successful first travel experience!!

While we were in LA the weather was amazing, with temperatures in the 80s.  We lounged in the sun, wore shorts and sandals, and played outside.  Carissa's cousins kept her entertained with their rowdy ways and she learned to roll over trying to get her hands on all the toys covering the floor.  It was great, but did not have the same feeling of Christmas that I am so used to up here in Washington.  Luke and I exchanged our stockings for each other, but left out presents behind in Bellingham.  Carissa had fun eating tissue paper and looking at her new toys.  It was a memorable Christmas for sure!!
